Hello, and thanks for stopping by! My name is Elena, and I was born in Florence, Italy, thirty years ago.
I am a traveler in the old romantic way, and for the past two years I’ve been exploring the beauties of the South American continent.
I care about the environment and the animals, so I am a vegan, I try to reduce my waste at the maximum and mainly buy local and second-hand. I love languages and photography, and I’m passionate about people and their stories.
ABOUT THIS BLOG
This blog started in 2016, when I decided that I was not going to look at my life pass by while sitting behind a desk, planning and saving up for my next trip. If what I loved the most was traveling, then I wanted to spend my days doing that! My adventure started with a one-way ticket to Lima and a plan-less plan. Two years later, I am far from being the person that jumped on that plane: it is a journey of transformation.
Where Am I?
Joel and I hitchhiked from Rio de Janeiro to Mato Grosso do Sul (Brazil), with the objective of traveling throughout the seventeen departments of Paraguay. We explored the wet and dry Chaco, traveling first North and then West. After our paths split, I moved back to Asunción, where I am working to save up for the rest of the trip.
Check Out Joel’s Blog!
The journey is not only made of places, but
mainly of the people we meet on the way. And neither my trip nor me would be the same hadn’t I crossed paths with Joel, with whom I shared ten wonderful months hitchhiking in South America. Don’t miss his blog Buenas Rutas!
Work With Me!
Not only do I work onsite, but I do a lot of online jobs to finance my trip.
I am also a freelance translator, travel writer and photographer. Would you like to work with me?
